The car has run perfect for the last month or so. Just two weeks ago i took it to an auto cross and some how busted my throwout bearing ... or clutch or something. TOO MUCH POWER! haha. Well the motor is perfect but the rest of the car needs more work.

Thanks to all that helped with the engine install and build up. Your help was necessary and most appreciated!

Well I am building an exhaust system for power only, i can take this one off in 5 bolts and bolt the other one on for race day (cat delete, 3" or 2.5" undecided)

MSDS header hi heat 2000 degree paint wrapped in 65 feet of header wrap then painted again with high heat paint.

This is the oil cooler module with all its new adapters, it is sport some fresh new goodrich's and parker hydraulic connectors with an mechanical autometer oil pressure sending unit.

Not to mention the STOCK - Oil temperature regulator that stops flow to the cooler when oil temps are too low.

8R Oil Pan and pickup install

This is my 8R oil pan, i got it on ebay for around $120. A little steep, but it is in great condition. This is the deep oil pan and will be the best for the track.

MSDS Header w/ reducer

The guy I bought this from, had the reducer, which is nice. I can cut and weld this onto the factory exhaust pass emissions and run daily ;) and then swap in the 2.5 catless exhaust for race day.

The Eye of the Intake Valve....

Prepare for final torque of head to block. Torque Specs are: 1st: 25 ft lbs - 15 min pause - 2nd: 45 ft lbs -15 min pause - 3rd torque 65 ft lbs for stock studs. Some race shops find good results by using a final torque between 75-85 ft lbs. I used 70 ft lbs, since i am using ARP Race HEAD STUDS.

Make sure you take a long object or pipe wire brush to clean out all the head stud holes, for the dirt inside will give you a problem when measure for correct deck height. The correct height as you see above is 73 mm.

Oil Pump install

Because the surfaces were slightly off, we sanded it down until they were smooth and a fingernail would not get caught. This way the oil pump will be flush and we will not have to worry about the locktite 574 being a gap filler. The special locktite 574 is a product that continues to stay wet until it is deprived of oxygen (so as it breaks down as a liquid it can flow through the oil system without causing internal engine problems). If there is a gap that is too large, the locktite seal may not dry, thus flush mounting is key.

ARP racing Head Studs... studly

I bought a set of head studs from ARP that are going to replace the factory studs. These studs are seriously studly. Check them out in the pictures above.

It took some time however to remove the factory bolts. We ended up getting the last few unstuck with a bit of boiling water and a pair of pipe pliers
